Jan 11, 2010:
4700 miles, 4 weeks, 9 states, and almost 2000 pictures.
It's taken me a while to organize all my pictures, post web albums, and write this blog. Hopefully, some of you will enjoy reading some or all of it but, if not, I had a great time recalling all the amazing people and places that I saw along the way. Travelling on a motorcycle is certainly not the most comfortable or practical way to get around but it truly is a different experience and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Somehow the smells, comfort changes, challenges due to weather and terrain, and joy of riding on two wheels tranform the experience into something a little (lot?) more raw and adventurous, at least for me. People you meet also seem much more willing to ask about your trip or share their own stories. As Big Ted put it, folks seems to identify or respect the inherent vulnerabilities of going somewhere on a motorcycle and, for whatever reason, the bike makes your more socially accessible.
For those of you who have or or haven't read this blog, I've created a list below of direct links to my posts to help you find what you're looking for. Since the home page of the blog displays posts in reverse chronological order, it probably makes sense to go to a post that interests you below and then navigate to others using the date links on the right or the links in this post again.
Thanks for reading!
